Typical Accountabilities:
• Executes routine drug discovery research experiments independently by applying the techniques of molecular and cellular biology, communicates the results to team members and is involved in the interpretation of data
• Supports a team and works collaboratively with project managers to ensure the efficient relay of information and forward translation of data
• Maintains a well developed understanding of approaches to drug discovery and applies a broader functional knowledge of the procedures used by diverse project groups to support the department where needed
• Assesses and reports data, with little or no guidance, in a clear and concise manner, with a clear understanding of its implications within the overall context of drug discovery
• Provides technical instruction to the team and allocates administrative work where possible
• Shares relevant external published papers with peers
• Communicates and shares information between distinct projects within the bioscience function and across other functions
• Ensures own work, and work of peers, is compliant with Good Laboratory Practice, Safety, Health and Environment standards and all other relevant internal AstraZeneca standards and external regulations

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Background in drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry
• Desirable: Master’s degree in a related field

Compensation Pay Range:
108,473.60 - 162,710.40 USD AnnualThe annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position is outlined above. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
